What stood out: Throughout the selection process, Dr. Unertl demonstrated a strong commitment to students, staff, and families, along with the ability to bring people together around a shared vision for student success. Dr. Unertl’s personal goal to bring all of his experiences together in service to our youngest learners resonated during the selection process.

From Dr. Unertl: "I am honored to join the Rockfield Elementary School community, and return to Germantown where I began my teaching career. And while it’s only the beginning of summer, I cannot wait for fall. I am looking forward to partnering with students, staff, and families to build on Rockfield's strong tradition of excellence and support the success of every learner."

Thank you: We are grateful to the families, staff, and community members who shared feedback on the qualities sought in Rockfield's next principal and to those who participated in the interview process. Your involvement played an important role in this decision.
