Little Women

This spring marks our busiest season to date! While all of our events have been impacted in some way by the pandemic, the PAC has remained open and looks forward to relaxed safety measures moving forward.

The GHS Dramatic Impact group put together two productions this year. “Peter and the Starcatcher” opened February 5th with a cast of 12 and crew of 21. This play with music is a delightful Peter Pan-based story complete with pirates, tropical islands, and hurricanes.

“Little Women” opened April 30th with a cast of 15, crew of 35, and pit orchestra of 19. Starring Elise Dahlby as “Jo March”, this musical is a heartwarming but tragic story of the four March sisters based on the novel by Lousia May Alcott. The pit orchestra performed live from the band room with the aid of extensive video and audio equipment. Both productions were streamed live and had limited in-person attendance available.

The PAC hosted the Livestream Piano Concert Series to support the ongoing campaign for a new grand piano. The concert series featured performances by Germantown students Angela Zheng and Noah Durlam, as well as the local band OTR directed by Jim Barnes. There were also cameos by friends and family. The series raised $375 and was streamed out to the community. Visit our website to donate to the campaign today!

May and June are typically packed full of school concerts, ceremonies and dance recitals, and this year was no exception. The PAC hosted 6 outside organizations this spring totaling 23 different events and thousands of spectators. We also held semi-normal music concerts for the choir and band programs and enjoyed an art show by the AP Art and Design class. This marks the end of the first year the facility has been open for a full term. These events would not be possible without the support of all the student and parent volunteers. If you would like to become a PAC volunteer, contact the PAC Coordinator at hpulkowski@gsdwi.org.

In July the Germantown PAC helped sponsor the Menomonee Falls Arts Spotlight event, which featured many local arts organizations at the nearby Village Park Pavilion. Hundreds of people braved the heat to see The Kids From Wisconsin and AOK groups perform, and the Performing Arts Center promoted its facilities and upcoming season to a local audience.

This summer, don’t miss our Family Film Fridays! On select Fridays throughout the summer the PAC will be showing FREE family movies at 7:00pm. Visit our website for a list of titles. Sweet treats are available at concessions and proceeds will support the Piano Campaign.
