BEHIND THE SCREEN - The Dangers of Online Exploitation
Germantown Youth Futures, in collaboration with the Germantown Police Department, is committed to keeping our students safe—both in school and online. As technology continues to play a major role in our students’ lives, families need to be aware of a growing online threat known as sextortion.
To help parents and students(ages 10+) understand this threat and how to protect themselves, Germantown Youth Futures is hosting a presentation on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at the GHS PAC. Our keynote speaker is Brittney Bird, a survivor parent and victim advocate. We will also have a panel discussion with representatives from the Germantown Police Department, including the GHS SRO, the DOJ Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and our GHS Social Worker.
This is a FREE event, but we appreciate pre-registration. You can register using this link: GYF Behind the Screen Presentation
