Good Morning, Crusaders! Happy Friday! We’re glad you’re here and today is a BLUE day.
Today’s weather at noon: 71 Degrees.
Quote of the day: Never let anyone tell you something is impossible just because it has never been done before.
"Are you a current 8th grader who loves to sing and perform? Are you looking for something fun to be involved in during your first year of high school? Consider auditioning for GHS Soltown A Cappella! Auditions will be held May 26–27. Check out the flyers around school or talk to Ms. Fichtner or Ms. Hosfelt for more information."
And just like that we've reached the final day to shop our Spring Scholastic Book Fair in the library. The book fair will remain open for shopping today through noon so make sure you get to the library for those final purchases. Again, the book fair will close at noon today. If you have eWallet funds remaining, please make sure you get to the library this morning to spend those funds. Teachers, please check your email for an updated list of students with eWallet funds and please allow them to shop the fair when time permits.
We still have two more mystery gift cards to give away from yesterday's book fair raffle drawing. The winners are...Eva Hernandez in 7th grade and Lincoln Wartner in 8th grade. Congratulations! Make sure you stop by the library this morning to claim your gift cards.
8th-grade PE classes! It's Freezy Pop Frenzy time! Need a cool treat to kick off your day...purchase your freezy pops during your PE classes today and Monday, May 18th! Two freezy pops for $1.00! Thanks for supporting the KMS PE Department!
Key Club is collecting the following:
Hand Soap. Sealable Plastic Bags (All Sizes), Kleenex. Toilet Paper. Paper Towels, Dish Sponges. Disinfectant Wipes Or Spray. Please put the donated items in the boxes in front of your classrooms.
Students, the buses leave at 2:52pm. Please be sure to be out in your bus line before then. If you are walking after school by the buses, make sure you cross safely. YOU MUST CROSS BY THE FLAG POLE if you are going to Fireman's Park. Mr. Hagenbach will be there. Do not cross in front of the buses. If you see a bus, ask a staff member to help you cross safely. We have had students crossing in front of buses, and that is incredibly unsafe. Look for a staff member to help you.
Chromebook Maintenance - Please take care of your Chromebook. It’s yours to use and your responsibility. If there is damage done purposefully, you may have to pay for it and you could be issued a consequence. BE RESPONSIBLE for your Chromebook by taking good care of it and charging it every night.
Lockers - Make sure to take all food or drink (water is ok) out of your locker every night to make sure that it doesn’t spoil and attract ants or other insects. Please keep your locker clean and organized. Follow the KMS Way!
ACT Word of the Day is anecdote - a short account of an event. Cedrick’s funny anecdote about his first day at college put the nervous freshmen at ease.

Please prepare for the Pledge of Allegiance: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Here at KMS, the K also stands for KIND. So be kind to each other, keep your hands to yourself, listen to your teachers, and a warm welcome to all of our guests in the building.
Make it a great day, Crusaders. The choice is yours.
