Good Morning, Crusaders! Happy Thursday. A special Happy Friday Jr! We’re glad you’re here! Today is a BLUE day.

Today’s weather at noon: 13 degrees. If you plan on going outside for recess, bring a coat or jacket because once you go out for recess, you are not allowed to come back in. So please dress appropriately.

Today’s Kindness Challenge: Hide a happy note for a friend to find

Congratulations on a fantastic concert to the 6th and 7th-grade bands. You sounded amazing! Best of luck to the 8th-grade and jazz bands on their concert tonight!

Good luck to our Boys’ Basketball teams as they go against Tosa Longfellow!

Good luck to our Wrestling team as they host Tosa Whitman!

For the Times When We Have an After School Event:

a. Students attending games will be in study hall first as we get out early and games will begin at 3:30 earliest. Study hall location will change pending staff members who are working.

b. Cell phones will not be allowed while sitting in the stands. They are to remain in student backpacks. If a student needs to use their phone for calling / texting a parent, they will need to ask the event supervisor for permission - too many issues have occurred over cell phone use during games unfortunately.

c. Backpacks will be set in a grouping on the side of the bleachers - not with the students in the bleachers.

d. All students attending without parents will sit in the "student section" of the bleachers with KMS supervisors.

e. Food and drink to be consumed during "study hall".

Homework Club is from 2:45 - 3:45 in the Library.

Young Writer’s Club is today from 2:45 - 3:45 in Mrs. Hillshafer’s room G-116.

Attention KMS Ski & Snowboard Club!

We will be having grade level MANDATORY meetings next week during Advisory to go over expectations prior to our first outing to Little Switzerland!

All meetings will be held in the GAC.

Lost and Found tables are getting full. Please make sure to check the tables by the MAIN Office on your way to lunch.

Concert Etiquette - When you are at a concert (choir or band), you MUST be a respectful audience member. No phones, no talking, no turning around and laughing with others. It’s your responsibility to show the KMS Way in all areas in which you represent our school.

Advisory - Bring everything you need TO Advisory. Only one student is allowed out of Advisory at a time. (unless it’s an emergency) Advisory is a time to get everything done from the day.

Rules Reminder: Substitute Behavior: Treat the guest teacher the same way you’d treat your teacher. Show respect and follow directions the first time. Keep the classroom running smoothly by staying on task, using quiet voices, and helping each other. Be responsible, do your work, clean up after yourself, and leave things better than you found them. Represent our school well. Your behavior shows who we are, so let’s make it positive and respectful. Remember, your teacher will hear how things went. Make it a day you’re proud of!

SHOUT OUT Positive behavior for substitutes is something we have been working on! Mr. Stell wanted to give a shout-out to Ms. Servais's 7th period class. He subbed in there yesterday, and they were simply amazing! The entire class got right to work and stayed focused and quiet for the whole period. NICE WORK, Crusaders! Teachers, if you have a class that does an exceptional job for you or for your substitute, let me know! I’d love to give them a SHOUT OUT over announcements!

Students please remember to practice KINDNESS - The kind of person you are can be measured by the way you make others feel. Remember The Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Be kind. It’s that simple.

ACT Word of the Day is perpetual - continuous, everlasting. I thought the perpetual complaints were going to prove too much for me.

Today’s Crusader Trivia Question: There are TWO staff members at KMS who were lucky enough to be in Mrs. Gieryn's 8th Grade Classes many years ago? Name one of them!

Go onto our website to answer! The link will be right by the lunch count link.

Yesterday’s Trivia Answer: Alaska became a state on January 3, 1959.

Congratulations to Today’s Winners: Marie Mills (6th Grade) and Ian Perera (7th Grade). Get a pass and come on down to the MAIN office for your prize!

Please prepare for the Pledge of Allegiance: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Here at KMS, the K also stands for KIND. So be kind to each other, keep your hands to yourself, and listen to your teachers.

Make it a great day, Crusaders. The choice is yours.
