Good Morning GSD Families, After consulting with Riteway Bus Company and local municipalities this morning, we have decided to proceed with a regularly scheduled school day today, Thursday, February 23rd. Bus routes may take longer than usual to get to their stops and schools this morning because of road conditions. Please exercise patience as our bus drivers are working to ensure safe travel. If you decide to keep your child home today, we ask that you call your child’s school office to notify them. Thank you for your patience and understanding over the past couple days as we have navigated the weather and travel conditions for students and staff. Germantown School District
Dear GSD Families, We have been monitoring the weather continuously today and have been updated by the National Weather Service on the most current weather conditions as of 3:57 p.m. The most severe weather is anticipated between 3:00 p.m. today and 6:00 a.m. tomorrow. We have contacted local municipalities and public works on road conditions for morning travel and asked them to ensure plowing and salt for the current winter mix. We intend to have school tomorrow, Thursday, February 23rd. We will continue to monitor the weather through the night, and I will be on a 3:45 a.m. National Weather Service webinar tomorrow morning to solidify whether to hold or cancel school. If the weather predictions change, school cancellation will happen by 5:15 a.m. with a call and email to all families and staff. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate Wisconsin's unique extended winter weather. Dr. Chris Reuter Superintendent Germantown School District
Good Morning Germantown School District Families, Due to inclement weather conditions, the decision has been made to CANCEL school today, Wednesday, February 22. There will be no before or after school activities today or virtual learning for students. We will continue to monitor tomorrow’s weather and provide updates if there will be any cancellations. Thank you for understanding the need to cancel school and ensure the safety of our students and staff. Germantown School District
PLEASE NOTE: Thursday's lunch menu items will be served on Monday. View the updated menu at https://gsdwi.nutrislice.com/.
February 15th was School Resource Officer Appreciation Day🚔, and we would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to two familiar faces across the district, SRO Toni Olson and SRO Kevin Laux. Collectively, they have over 35 years of experience in law enforcement. As SROs, their role is multifaceted and ultimately bridges the gap between law enforcement and our schools. While no day for them is the same, they often work closely with each school's administration, guidance counselors, and social workers assisting students with a variety of situations. They regularly take time to speak in classes, be present in the halls and lunchrooms, and attend sporting events and school activities. Both are on the GSD Safety Committee and organize school lockdowns, safety drills, and staff safety training. One of their favorite parts about the jobs is being there for the students. While their role is to enforce laws, they work hard to build trusted relationships with students and parents and be seen as a person to turn to in times of need. Thank you for all you do!
Good Evening Germantown School District Families, After consultation with the National Weather Service and surrounding quadrant school districts (Mequon, Cedarburg, Northern Ozaukee, Whitefish Bay, and Grafton), the decision has been made to CANCEL school tomorrow, Thursday, February 16. The National Weather Service is predicting 4-8 inches of snow after the start of the school day with gusting winds ranging from 30-40 mph. Due to the time frame of heavy snow accumulation and wind expected between 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. tomorrow, our concern is the ability to get students and staff home safely. There will be no virtual learning for students or before or after school activities tomorrow. However, all after school activities for tonight, February 15, will continue as planned. As a reminder, Germantown School District students have a planned day of NO SCHOOL on Friday, February 17, for Teacher Inservice. Thank you for understanding the need to cancel school and ensure the safety of our students and staff. We take time and effort to make the most informed decision possible when deciding to close GSD. Have a safe and enjoyable long weekend. Thank you, Germantown School District
Amy Belle Families, Thank you for your flexibility this morning as we all had to respond quickly to the implications of the water tank malfunction. Our maintenance crew has since been able to fix the problem. The school day will proceed as usual tomorrow, Friday, January 27th. Thank you, Katie Kohel Amy Belle Principal
Dear Amy Belle Families, Due to a water tank malfunction, Amy Belle Elementary currently does not have access to water. Therefore, we must close school today, Thursday, January 26, for all students and staff. Please make the appropriate accommodations to pick up your child from school by 10:30 AM. We are working closely with a maintenance crew to resolve the situation. If the fix can not be completed by the start of school tomorrow, school will be canceled. We will keep you posted as we know more about the status of school tomorrow, January 27th. Please use our parent drop off/pick up line in the back of the building to pick up your child. Pull up to one of the cones and a staff member will bring your child to your car. Thank you for your understanding. Katie Kohel Amy Belle Principal Dr. Chris Reuter Superintendent

Take a look at a few of the projects the GHS Tech Ed Program was working on throughout #ManufacturingMonth! -Mr. Stachowiak's Woodworking Design and Techniques class constructed sling-back and Adirondack chairs. -Mr. Muenzmaier's Automotive One class worked on personal and donated cars to complete a checklist of tasks, including oil and filter change, thermostat replacement, tire rotation, installation of new spark plugs, and more! -Tech Ed students attended the Manufacturing and Trade Career Expo where local manufacturers, and those involved in the trades, provided interactive displays and conversations to raise student awareness of companies, opportunities, and corresponding educational pathways. Thank you to the Germantown Chamber of Commerce WI and The Chamber - Greater Menomonee Falls & Sussex for bringing this event to local students!
