Academic Hall of Fame

AP Scholars, ACT 30+ Score, and National Merit Scholar

Located in the high school’s “A-wing”, which is the main academic wing and near and senior class hallways, the Academic Hall of Fame was first implemented in May 2013 to recognize student achievement in ACT, AP, and PSAT/NMSQT testing.

The classes of 2013-present are recognized on this Academic Hall of Fame with the class they graduate. For example, if a student took the ACT as a junior and received a score of 30+, they are noted on the plaque with their graduating class. Final information regarding ACT and AP becomes available in the summer after a given class graduates.

Within the AP Scholar award there are four categories:
National Scholar: Earned an average of 4 or higher on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.
Scholar with Distinction: Earned an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
Scholar with Honor: Earned an average of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.
Scholar: Completed three or more AP Exams with grades of 3 or higher.
If a student qualifies under the AP Scholar criteria, they are noted on the highest level of achievement they receive, not in each category.

The National Merit Scholar Wall acknowledges students for their highest honor of attaining this prestigious status.
National Merit Commended Student: Students who meet a nationally applied Selection Index score on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®)
National Merit Semifinalist: Students who score the highest in their state on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®)
National Merit Finalist: Chosen through an application process, these students further distinguish themselves through their academic and extracurricular achievements and leadership abilities.
