STUDENT LEADERSHIP TEAM
Student Leadership is open to students in third, fourth, and fifth grades. Our Student Leadership Team organizes many service projects for our school and helps other organizations outside of our school. Members must exhibit leadership, organization, and interact with others easily.
JUNIOR ART DOCENT PROGRAM
As an extension of our art curriculum, students participate in a three-year project at the Milwaukee Art Museum (MAM) called the Jr. Docent Program. Each year, the children complete three guided visits by trained volunteer docents throughout the Art Museum. Each of the nine visits highlights an art theme or a specific area of the museum. In their third year of the program, the children create a final art project in the style of a chosen work from the museum's permanent collection and participate in a graduation celebration at the museum.
D.A.R.E.
Updated to meet the issues of the times, D.A.R.E. continues its 30-year history of offering 5th graders a program to help them resist the pressures that may negatively affect them.
During this program, students are introduced to the D.A.R.E. Decision Making Model, which helps them with problem-solving and making wise decisions. Other topics covered include consequences, health effects, risks, resisting negative peer pressure, bullying, communication skills, ways to reduce stress, positive friendships, responsibility, and much more.
