DR SUSAN BORDEN - DISTRICT ADMINISTRATOR 

Dr. Borden is originally from Poynette, Wisconsin where she attended Poynette Public Schools (K-12), followed by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where she earned a Bachelors of Science in English and history along with her teaching certification. Accepting a position overseas in 1993, Dr. Borden taught and worked for the Chiba Prefectural Government through Wisconsin’s sister-state exchange with Japan.  As a high school English as a second language teacher, she was able to imbed communications activities for her students at Matsudo Kokusai High School.  Returning to the Fox River Valley, Dr. Borden taught middle and high school English in Menasha Public Schools. While teaching, she attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis with an emphasis in school finance. Her certification included K-12 principal licensure.  In 1999, she moved to the Milwaukee area to assume the role of associate principal at Franklin High school (Franklin, Wisconsin) and five years later as principal at Mill Valley Elementary School (Muskego, Wisconsin) where she served students for six years.  While working in Muskego, she assisted in the establishment of a children’s non-profit, the Muskego Performing Arts Council, which has brought a number of professional level performances to the Muskego area.  Also during this time, she pursued her PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis with a minor in law through the University of Wisconsin-Madison (School of Education and Law School).  Her degree emphasis includes continued work in school finance and policy analysis. Her experiences also include a number of international service projects including:  castle restoration in Saint Victor La Coste (France), cave painting restoration in Bari (Italy) and trail mapping in the Cinque Terre (Italy).  Dr. Borden became a part of the Germantown staff in 2010 as the District Administrator.
