The Rockfield Way
All of the elementary schools in the Germantown School District are beginning to implement PBIS, Positive Behavior Interventions and Strategies. A PBIS core team was identified in the spring of 2011 and was trained that summer. A tier 2 team also works on strategies to enhance positive behavior. Teams meet bimonthly before or after school to discuss, develop, and implement the components of PBIS, which includes six areas of the school: hallways, recess, all learning areas, bus, lunchroom, and bathroom areas.
"The Rockfield Way" is a format to provide a common language to promote social emotional well-being, and in general, positive behavioral expectations.
The three components include: Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible.
Please view the matrix in the right side bar. This is a great resource for families.
Individuals and classes earn "paws" which are reminders of positive behaviors.
