MacFest

After every trimester, MacArthur holds an awards ceremony in the gym called MacFest. One or two students are chosen for each award from each classroom. Students are recognized for their great efforts noted in the classroom by the teacher. Students also recieve ribbons and a certificate for a special treat. We begin the ceremony with singing our MacArthur School Song. New students are also welcomed and recognized as well as any birthdays celebrated during that quarter. The names and descriptions of the awards given are listed below.

Awards

Terrific Kids:
A boy and a girl in each class that consistently display positive character traits of caring, respect, and citizenship.

Eagle Effort:
One or two students in each class who exhibited great effort for the quarter.

MacAward:
One or two students in each class who were especially kind to others during the quarter.

Helpful Hands:
One or two students in each class who were super helpers during the quarter.

MacReader:
One or two students in each class who read beyond the required time and/or worked hard at improving reading skills.
