KMS Geography Bee winner moves on to State Competition
Jonah Kazmierczak, a seventh grader from Kennedy Middle School in Germantown has qualified to compete in the state level competition of the National Geographic Bee! The Wisconsin State Bee will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 in Madison, Wisconsin. Jonah participated along with over 900 students in the KMS school wide preliminary competition. He then went on to compete and win in the semi-finals and final Geography Bee competition on January 13th that involved 30 students representing 6th through 8th grade.
One champion from each state and territory will advance to the National Geographic Bee Championship, which will be held May 14-18 at the National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington, D.C. Transportation and accommodations for the Washington, D.C. trip are provided for each state champion and one parent/guardian.
