2015 State Education Convention

Kennedy Middle School's Project Lead The Way pre-engineering program students were invited to represent STEM education at this years convention. Teachers Jeff Thielke and John Parrish selected Jossie Coulthurst, Jordan Edwards, Mira Watson, Morgan Fleisner, and Matt Kohn to represent our school. 

KMS technology/engineering students have demonstrated that they are up to the challenges this nationally accredited curriculum demands!  PLTW incorporates Science of Technology activities involvong problem solving, critical thinking, design, prototype developement, testing, and re-designing. Congratulations to all who participated!

For Matrin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, students participated in service opportunities with their home rooms.Veldboom house  made approx. 1,296 sandwiches for the Milwaukee Salvation Army and Milwaukee Rescue Mission,  Hillshafer house stuffed plastic eggs with candy for the Germantown Parks and Recreation Dept. Egg Hunt, Schwister house sorted clothing donations for Our Kids' Closet and made greeting cards for elderly, Cumming house made affirmation cards for clients of Friends of Abused Families, Glaser house made tissue paper flowers for Casa Guadalupe fundraising event, Janke house made dog and cat toys for Washington Co. Humane Society and Monday house made fleece tie blankets for Youth and Family Project clients. An outstanding show of support to the community from the students and staff at Kennedy Middle School!

2015 Geo Bee

Eighth grader Kaleb Schroeder took first place in the National Geographic Geoography Bee that took place on January 15th. In second place was 6th grader, Sam Chapman (with Kaleb in photo 2)  In the group photo (left to right) is Sam Chapman, Kaleb Schroeder, Ethan Masarik, Joey Denor and Nathan Zak. The last three finished third through fifth place. Congatulations to all the students who participated.
