Principal's Corner

February 2010

As of the end of January, we have completed ninety-five days of school.  We are more than half-way through the school year and we are asking ourselves where the time has gone.  It seems like just yesterday that we were planning for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve.  Visions of children opening presents on Christmas morning are still etched in my mind. Where does the time go?  As our parents once said, “Time flies when you’re having fun at school.”

Fun is what we are having indeed!  We just completed our Dinner with the Arts evening which was a wonderful display of art and delicious food.  Thank you to all the volunteers that made the event a huge success.  We also reflected on a great American as we celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day at the end of January.  A special thank you goes out to the 7th graders at KMS for a beautiful concert at Amy Belle.  These along with numerous other events are just a few items that make Amy Belle such a special place to go to school.

I would like to thank all our students who have made a great effort to “Make a Difference” in the lives of others as well as their own. Our students have taken our school theme to another level and take great pride in helping those around them.  When you get a chance, please stop in and look at our main entrance and all the beautiful pictures of many of our “Difference Makers”.  Amy Belle is truly a special place on this earth & the students, teachers, and staff are out of this world.  I want you all to make 2010 a year to remember.  Go out and “Make a Difference.”
