Response to Intervention

Response to Intervention is a multi-tiered delivery system of research based instructional practices.  The RTI framework provides monitoring of the acquisition of student skill sets as well as provides appropriate levels of instruction and interventions for those who are not progressing.  Response to Intervention (RTI) is a framework which monitors ALL students progress and works to develop all learners' knowledge and understanding.  The RTI model is usually designed in a tiered model of instruction.  Most of the student population will be served through quality classroom instruction.  Other students may be served through focused supplemental instruction and a small portion of the population of students will be served through intensive interventions.  Please see the graphic above for a common depiction of percentage of student population served through different tiers of instructional services.

Response To Intervention (RTI) Handbook
The RTI Handbook is currently "under construction" as it will continuously be developed as the school district works to systemically integrate responsive instruction into daily pedagogy.
Collaborative Support Team (CST) Referral
The CST Referral is a document used to inform RTI team members of student information including emotional, academic, and behavioral concerns and present levels of performance. It documents interventions that have been tried for Tier 1 and supports the team in identifying future interventions necessary for student progress.
Learning Targets
Response To Intervention Research Teams
These groups of educators are charged with the task of researching interventions for students in the areas of reading and mathematics. The "researchers' will analyze the district's learning targets, the curriculum that is in place, and student achievement data in order to make recommendations for interventions to be used. Thank you to all who have volunteered to be an active participant in this endeavor.
Schedule of team meetings
Please see the schedule for the date, time, and location for each level's RTI Research team meetings. These are also listed on the Germantown Training and Teaming Calendar listed on the professional development page.

Measures of Academic Progress

The Germantown School District recently implemented the use of the Measures of Acacemic Progress (MAP) testing.  Please see the following links to access more information regarding MAP testing.

What is MAP Testing
The following gives a brief description of what the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) testing is.
2011 NWEA MAP NORMS
The following charts depict typical scores for students and are based on nationally normed data. The information is not meant to provide grade placements, but are used as indicators of student growth.
