Welcome to Risk Management


The district's liability insurance covers all risk elements associated with public schools. Additionally, the district requires evidence of insurance from facility users, the student transportation vendor, and other organizations conducting business with the district when appropriate. State law and school board policies guide coverage limits.

The current underwriter for all coverages is Liberty Insurance, except that property insurance is from the Local Government Property Insurance Fund.

Additionally, supplemental student accident insurance is available for families wishing to cover their children. This insurance is supplemental to the parents normal health insurance and focuses on special coverages such as sports.

The district has a Safety Committee which meets periodically to assess ways to reduce accidents or injuries to staff, students, and all other visitors.
